If you can't find them commercially, try your hand at molding them yourself. It's not as hard as you may think. I've made a lot of parts for my modeling hobby, once you've done it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
You don't need a lot of different style blocks, maybe 5. Carve a master in wood, make an RTV mold, and make your blocks out of resin. Use Testor's metalizer lacquer to paint to blocks when cured. The buffing metalizer allows you to get many variations in sheen and depth of color, it just depends on how long you buff the parts. They also make a non buffing metalizer. Between the two, you can make every block look different. Use super glue to assemble your "Replicator", Other glues do not work well with resin.
